Programs

The MLK Community Center is a safe place, where parents know their children receive excellent care and the programming is rich; where families receive not only emergency food, but workshops on how to cook healthy meals; where women learn skills that improve their lives, and where neighbors know they will be treated with respect.  Through collaborations with other Newport County agencies, we are able to broaden our clients’ experiences and help them find other services they may need.  We have established innovative partnerships with a wide variety of agencies, including Literacy Volunteers of East Bay, whose mission is to provide free educational instruction to adults.  We are a gathering place for community forums, for cultural and recreational events, and for educational workshops.  We hold our students and ourselves to a high standard of excellence and provide programming that helps our neighbors reach their highest potentials.
