FEELING THE LOVE AT THE MLK
Happy Valentine's Day!
There's so much love to go around here at the MLK Center!
This past week, Preschool students enjoyed festive arts and crafts projects thanks to a generous contribution of art supplies from our friend Shelley Schorsch. Students made Valentines for their families, exchanged Valentines and treats with each other, and made festive bags to take their goodies home in! The activity featured writing prompts about love: who they love, what they love, things they love, and what it means to love.
"You show love by being kind," a Preschool student remarked.
Our Valentine's Day grab 'n go meal was today, Friday, February 12th. McGrath's Clambakes and Catering supplied delicious chicken marsala with garlic mashed potatoes to over 250 people. We always prioritize supporting local - and our dessert vendor was as local as it gets! The special desserts for this meal were prepared by the MLK's own Kyra Bunch, Preschool Teaching Assistant by day and business owner/baker at Cupcakes by Ky at night.
And, as they have for the past few years, students at St. George's School assembled Candy Grams, which were distributed at today's Valentine's Day meal to make the day that much more sweet.
We are grateful to be able to pass on the love throughout the community!

MIDDLETOWN ROTARY CHALLENGE: Help us reach our goal before Tuesday
Because they can't come together this year to raise funds for the MLK in-person as they do annually, a group of Middletown Rotarians have committed to donating $7,000 to the MLK… if an additional $7,000 or more is raised by community members and other Rotarians first. This challenge is drawing to a close: it ends this coming Tuesday, February 16th. Can you help us reach our goal, so we can unlock these matching funds? Be sure to select "Middletown Rotary Hunger Challenge" in the Optional PayPal dropdown so your contribution counts toward the goal!
